Some news to share before the end of the year.
After showing you the exterior in detail over the past weeks, it’s time to step inside the cockpit.
The entire cockpit has been carefully modeled and textured, with a strong focus on accuracy, depth, and readability. From panels to screens, every element is being refined to meet the level of detail this aircraft deserves. We are joining a few close-up screenshots so you can fully appreciate this level of detail.
On the avionics side, development is well underway, and there is a lot going on. The cockpit features two main lateral multifunction displays, capable of presenting a lot of different pages dedicated to aircraft systems, navigation, sensors, and configuration. The central display provides the tactical picture, while the HUD delivers a dense and highly dynamic set of flight and combat information. In addition, four auxiliary side screens complete the cockpit environment.
As a modern aircraft designed around HOTAS controls, most interactions are managed through a limited number of buttons and switches, primarily located on the throttle, the stick, and the touch displays. We are adapting this philosophy as faithfully as possible to ensure a smooth and intuitive user experience within the simulator.
And yes, terrain following is functional. Thanks to our custom fly-by-wire flight control system, we were able to implement a fully automatic terrain-following mode. The system continuously analyzes the terrain several kilometers ahead of the aircraft, within its forward flight path, and automatically adjusts the flight controls to maintain the commanded height above ground. In the screenshot shown here, the autopilot is engaged in terrain-following mode, with a commanded height of 300 feet above ground level and autothrottle enabled. The HUD displays the characteristic “stairs” pattern, representing the terrain profile ahead of the aircraft in real time. This offers a highly immersive experience you will be able to enjoy with our Rafale in Microsoft Flight Simulator, whether flying in any weather conditions or at night, even with no external visibility.
We would like to thank you once again for your continued support, and we wish you all a wonderful end-of-year with your family and friends. ![]()
